Vendor Spotlight: Chloe and Reese

Okay, so I've been promising to post this for a while now...sorry it has taken so long.

It's always exciting when we have one-of-a-kind dress options emerge for brides, bridesmaids and anyone looking for a fantastic party dress. Over the years, the options have grown. We've found that our clients definitely want a unique, custom dresse. Chloe and Reese is now offering the perfect solution for the demand with their ready to wear collection, Ardour, which I think is FANTASTIC. For anyone whose been a bridesmaid, these sophisticated styles CAN be worn again - really!

The new collection features a range of stylish and chick silhouettes from flirty to elegant to classic. Their fabulous color options and luxury fabrications are imported from France and Italy and produced in New York City's Garment District. Their NY shoppe will work with you to provide swatches and style samples for those out-of-state or overseas orders.

Happy shopping everyone!

This is why I'm addicted to love!

We are gearing up for an amazing wedding at the Four Seasons this weekend with My and Francesco, but I had to post these photos by Allegro Photography. Jo and David are such a pleasure to work with and are so AMAZING.

Bill and I recently had the pleasure of being photographed by this amazing husband and wife team for our anniversary. It was so much fun and they made us feel so at ease. I even put my wedding dress on again!!

Anyone who wonders why I do what I do - it's the great clients and professionals I get to work with and being married to a wonderful man - I love love and entertaining!! Plain and simple.

A huge thank you to Rachael Berkowitz for making me look good. She does amazing things with hair and make-up. I felt so pretty!

You can view more on their blog. I'm thrilled to have some great shots of our two fury kids - Elton and Mariah.

I thought this was such a unique and whimsical bouquet. Not like anything I've seen before! This was from a traditional Danish wedding shot by the amazing Alicia Candelora.

She is bringing her individual, European style to New England and beyond. Thank you for sharing the images!

41 North Wedding

A quick post of a beautiful wedding this weekend at 41 North in Newport. The venue is under construction, but I was fortunate to be a part of this intimate, amazing affair. The main space (which will hold about 150) will be ready in January. Check out their website! This is going to be the hot spot for any event and can't wait to be there again!
I'll post professional pictures when available.

My first official post on the new blog! I want to share a fabulous wedding we were honored to work on this spring. There were many details, lots of atmosphere, but not over done. It was the definition of understated elegance, which I feel defines the events we are seeing today.

Lauren and Matt were a special couple who reminded me why I do what I do. I truly love my clients. Their soiree was held at the amazing Boston Harbor Hotel (as everyone knows one of my favorite venues in the city). I had the pleasure of working with Cortney Gould who is so accomodating and fun.

The photographer, Eric Laurits, went above and beyond. It was my first time working with him and he was fantastic - which doesn't do him justice, but as I work on expanding my vocabulary, I'll find some more worthy adjectives.

Amazing flowers produced by Dana Markos who is so gracious. I never have to worry when Dana is on the job. We work really well together.

My favorite picture of Lauren is when we were in the suite getting ready. She was extremely calm and more concerned with how others were doing. Luiz Filo made sure all the girls looked gorgeous - so talented and cares so much about his brides!
There usually isn't much to shoot during the cocktail reception, but for this wedding I had to send Eric's assistant to the rotunda to capture the surprise Lauren had planned for Matt. I'm so glad we ran over there or we would have missed these amazing shots!
Why does Matt have this expression on his face??

It's this fabulous martini luge! It was such a big hit.
I could go on about this wedding, but there is so many things to update. Next on the list - the amazing Chloe and Reese...stay tuned!

Our new site is live - http://www.simpledetailsevents.com/!! I couldn't be more excited to launch this site which has been a labor of love for me. Like I do with many of our events, I prepared powerpoint slides of each page to show the design and feel I was trying to achieve. REALLY. Ask my web guy (who is probably so done with me). It's my hope that the new site will give you better insight into what we do and what makes us different.
Along with our new site, we of course needed a new, stylish blog. You will see a lot more event highlights, vendor spotlights, tips and maybe my view on the latest hot topic. I think it's important for people to know the business as well as the person, so you may even see my husband on here (who secretly wishes he was an event planner). You'll also meet the other talent behind SD Events, those who help make it all come together.
Give us feedback on the new site and blog - we'd love to hear from you!
