Style Me Pretty Photo Shoot

Happy New Year to everyone! 2009 was a year of fun, unique adventures and we're excited to see what 2010 brings - new direction for the business and unique opportunities. Stay tuned!

We've been keeping this next blog entry under wraps and it has been extremely difficult! We are so proud of our work and the team we brought together to make it happen. So with no further delay I bring you a sneak peak of our SMP Inspiration to Reality board which will be featured today on style me pretty.

Our Beautiful couple Scarlett and Daniel (actors)

Our vision was to create a modern wedding with a retro vintage 50's feel. The color scheme was cool teal's with yellow accents. Our team was made up of with some one Boston's Alist Vendors including: Generations Cinemastories, Rentals Unlimited, Person and Killian Photography, Faxon Green Eco- Elegant Floral Design, Jenny's Cakes, Siman Entertainment, Flair Bridesmaids,Wedding Tresses, Jan Boyd Calligraphy, Classic Cars and Byways, East Meets West Catering, and last but certainly not least The Loft @ 319 A St. South end Boston.
The pictures you are viewing are ours, so I urge you to travel over to SMP to see the amazing professional photos which truly capture the beauty and talent.

The details we are seeing this year are classic and timeless with a big move away from trendy. Couples want to look back at their photos years later and not cringe at the styles and colors they chose.

Jenny's Amazingly Delicious Cake!

Escort Card Table - you are going to see a lot more feathers and peacock feathers in 2010 and beyond.
We had some much fun doing this and we couldnt have done it without the dedication and talent of everyone involved!

Florence's room at Crane Estate

We are excited to finally share photos from our involvement in "greening" of The Crane Estate for their holiday open house. We had the honor of decorating Florence's bedroom which has spectacular views of the grounds. What an amazing property!

While developing our design concept, we decided to turn Florence's dressing room into a bridal suite with a holiday twist. We also incorporated eco-friendly materials, flowers, etc in keeping with the "green" theme. We were in the company of others such as Dana Markos Events who has been decorating the house for many years. It was fun to see what others created.

We also added ambiance with candles and light color flowers to carry the bridal theme throughout.

It was a lot of fun and we got a lot of complements on the decor!! Great way to kick-off the holiday season.

Giving Thanks and Gearing Up for the Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving! It was a wonderful day spending time with family. We did the cooking which I love! Of course my favorite task is decorating the table. Here are a couple pictures from the Thanksgiving table. I went for a more rustic fall feel this year (no linen or ornate decor).

I've started the holiday decorating as well. While my husband is part Jewish, he lets me put up a Christmas tree. I try to represent chanakah as well. It's a great time to celebrate everyone's heritage.

The Planning: Behind the Scenes

We recently had a viewing with Marc Hall at Winston Flowers for one of our upcoming weddings at the Four Seasons. It is AMAZING to collaborate with his team and see our vision come to life. We are leaving some surprises which we'll show later (wait until you see what we are doing with the chairs)! These pictures don't do it justice, but it is so beautiful and oozes romance.
We are so excited for this wedding and all the details we will be putting together! Stay tuned - we'll be documenting this wedding as "the planning: behind the scenes"

The mixture of peonies, roses and hydrangea are magnificent and ultra romantic.

Tented Fall Wedding

SD Events just recieved some fabulous photos from a fall wedding that was behind our "Inspiration Outdoor Wedding" post in September. We pulled the different ideas from our previous post and personalized them for the couple. From the apple escort cards to the flipflop valet, the chic fall theme was carried out throughout the entire wedding! A big thank you to Samantha Yanofsky who shared some of her amazing shots with us! She was such a joy to work with!

The weather was beautiful and so were the details! Congratulations Elizabeth and Nick on a gorgeous day and letting us be a part of it.

A special thanks to Frank and his team at East Meets West Catering for providing the amazing food and wait staff. Everything was spectacular as usual!

Love this picture of Elizabeth. It captures the vintage style of the surroundings and her dress.

My & Francesco's Wedding

We jus recieved a wedding video clip from GENERATIONS Cinemastories of a beautiful wedding we did in August at the Four Seasons. They did an amazing job capturing all of the wonderful moments My & Francesco shared on their special day. We were entertained by the belly dancer oh and the magician for the kids! It was a fantastic party.

Special thanks to Lotus Designs who created the beautiful flowers and Table Toppers for the linens. John with David Murray Weddings captured the day and pictures to follow!!

Check out the video and congratulations to Francesco and My!

Southern New England Weddings Photo Shoot

Yesterday SD Events was lucky enough to do table design for a photo shoot at the Museum for Science to be featured in Southern New England Weddings Magazine!

One of our tables was shot in the MOS blue wing (home of the ginormous replica of T-Rex) so we thought a “Safari” Table would be a perfect fit! We used a really fun burlap like linen from Festive Occasions and a fabulous organic centerpiece by none other than the great Dana Markos. Check out our pictures to see how everything came together!

Of course we had to keep some surprises for the magazine. Thanks to everyone who helped out. The museum of science is a fantastic venue - so unique!

Chic Outdoor Wedding in Orleans

We just got some great pictures from a wedding we did last summer in Orleans. This was such a fun, creative wedding because the bride designs invitations and unique paper items. They are all gorgeous - check them out at http://www.smudgeink.com/

We've referred many of our clients to Kate and Deb and we know they are in good hands!

Our team had the pleasure of working with Laura Kozlowski for the first time at this weding and were very impressed - she and her assistant were wonderful to work with.

Check out her work at http://www.laurakozlowski.com/

Love this picture of Kate and Randy on the boat - classic Cape Cod! The flowers were all so colorful and cheery. The bride loved Daliahs and Bella's Blooms of Brewster delivered fantastic bouquets and centerpieces. http://www.bellasblooms/.

The ceremony overlooking the water - the weather held out! It wasn't until we got everyone under the cocktail tent that the rains came...but only lasted a short time.

Of course the escort cards were so cute and tastefully done - what else would you expect! All the paper products were unique - fan for programs and beautiful menu cards added to the details.

We did long banquet tables with family style service - what a great concept for an outdoor wedding. Sophisticated, but not stuffy and enabled guests to get to know each other.

Kate and Randy spent their summers working at Ben and Jerry's in Wellfleet so it was only fitting that they brought them to the wedding. They served several of their favorite flavors and it was a huge hit with the guests.

Outdoor Wedding Inspiration

We are in the thick of planning a shabby chick fall out door wedding so the ideas are flowing! Here are some ideas that are making up our inspiration board. We are mixing candles, fall flowers, and outdoor ideas for a simplistic rustic feel.

The bride wants to do something different for seating and these ideas are fun and classic. The first idea comes from Elizabeth Ann Designs - just fabulous and quentsential shabby chick.

The jewels add another layer of sophistication which I love.

Love the idea of a signature drink in mason jars. To add a twist to this standard, have them customized with the bride and groom's name or alternate them with colorful rocks or highball glasses. I also love this fun style champagne glasses which can also be used for a signature drink - great for mojitos!!

These last two are from http://www.cocktailvibe.com/ which has a lot of fun ideas! I thought we'd use a copper galvanized bucket fill with orange and red flip flops for our custom flip flop valet.

Vendor Spotlight: Chloe and Reese

Okay, so I've been promising to post this for a while now...sorry it has taken so long.

It's always exciting when we have one-of-a-kind dress options emerge for brides, bridesmaids and anyone looking for a fantastic party dress. Over the years, the options have grown. We've found that our clients definitely want a unique, custom dresse. Chloe and Reese is now offering the perfect solution for the demand with their ready to wear collection, Ardour, which I think is FANTASTIC. For anyone whose been a bridesmaid, these sophisticated styles CAN be worn again - really!

The new collection features a range of stylish and chick silhouettes from flirty to elegant to classic. Their fabulous color options and luxury fabrications are imported from France and Italy and produced in New York City's Garment District. Their NY shoppe will work with you to provide swatches and style samples for those out-of-state or overseas orders.

Happy shopping everyone!
