London Does It Again: Opening Ceremony

London Olympics Logo
At the start of every Olympics, there is the opening ceremony which is a celebration to show off the best of the host nation, along with all of the athletes from the competing nations. The opening ceremony is such a significant event and a huge part of the games, bringing the entire world together.

Danny Boyle, Artistic Director of the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, said: ‘Our Isles of Wonder salutes and celebrates the exuberant creativity of the British genius in an Opening Ceremony that we hope will be as unpredictable and inventive as the British people.’

We believe that the three hour ceremony did just that! In different segments viewers got a chance to witness various milestones throughout the United Kingdom history, and other symbolic moments that have made the country what it is today.

One of our favorite moments from the opening ceremony was watching the Queen, or at least what was supposed to be the Queen jump out of the helicopter with James Bond!

We hope you enjoyed watching the opening ceremony and the start of the games this weekend. What games are you most excited to watch?
